Inner peace is beyond victory or defeat. Bhagavad Gita
Inner peace is beyond victory or defeat.
Bhagavad Gita

People look for happiness, tranquility, and contentment in many places, searching for that ever-elusive inner peace, which we all desire at a deeper level, to provide peaceful satisfaction in their life. But what exactly is this inner peace which people so desperately want and need? Where does it come from, and how does one find it?

Inner peace is defined as a state of mind where calmness and satisfaction exist, with all other unwanted factors being constant. It is being mentally and spiritually at peace, no matter what is happening around you. It is a way of life where one maintains a calm mental state in the face of disharmony or stress.

Living a life of inner peace does not mean living a life where there are no challenges, troubles, or stress, but rather that, in the midst of those trying times, one is able to maintain his or her state of calmness and not be affected by those external influences.
Many people are confused about what inner peace truly means. They see perpetual inner peace as only being available to monks who live in an isolated environment, such as a Buddhist temple or a monastery, but that is misguided thinking. Inner peace is not the absence of stress or problems, but the ability to preserve a peaceful mind and successfully deal with whatever comes your way.
