The World Triad is a symbol that has both personal and universal significance. It can be found throughout the world. The triad, or the number three, is considered a sacred number by many cultures and religions. The circular shape of the World Triad is representative of the earth and the fact that all things are connected or share the same energy, but it can also be representative of one’s self and interconnectedness your individual parts.
But for our purposes here, I want to focus on the spirit, mind, and body aspect. The World Triad symbolizes a balance between your spirit, mind, and body, or spiritual awakening, mental growth, and physical fitness and wellbeing.
Think of your spirit, mind, and body as being the three legs of a stool, a stool which you depend on every day of your life. If one or more of those legs is not in balance with the others, the stool will not provide you with the balance that you need in your life. In addition, if one leg is much shorter, or much less developed than the other two, that stool will not be able to be used as it was meant to be. In short, sooner or later, it will fall and break apart.
It is important to maintain a good balance between your spirit, mind, and body. Neglecting any of these three will affect your life in a negative way. While you may not be able to see the negative effects of neglecting one or more of these immediately, in the long run, the consequences of that neglect will rise to the surface and will eventually cause you problems.
The different aspects of who you are must be kept in balance in order to live the life that you were meant to live. Think of the bodybuilder who only focuses on the development of his body. While he may develop his muscle mass and strength to an impressive level, if he neglects his spirit and mind, he will be the poster boy for the image of the musclebound simpleton.
In the same way, if someone only focuses on developing his mind, but neglects his spirit and body, he may have a great intellect, but he may not be healthy enough to enjoy or use that intelligence. Or he may not have the internal strength of character to put his intelligence to use to better his life or the lives of others.
You must take the time and effort to develop your spirit, mind, and body equally; neglecting one or more of these will eventually have negative effects on your life. Always strive to bring balance into your life. Use the World Triad as a reminder to keep the three aspects of your life in balance. If you do, you will find that your life has more of the inner peace and harmony that you desire.
